MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Serena Williams has won another Australian Open championship. Williams defeated Maria Sharapova (shah-rah-POH'-vah) 6-3, 7-6 for her 19th Grand Slam title, just three back of the all-time winner Steffi Graf (grahf). Williams has dominated play with Sharapova, winning 16 straight matches and 17 of 19.

PHOENIX (AP) — Awards take center stage today as preparations for the Super Bowl wind down. The annual NFL Honors celebration is taking place this evening with the awarding of the major Associated Press awards.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — The top matchup today in men's basketball has second-ranked and unbeaten Virginia playing host to No. 4 Duke. The Cavaliers are 19-0 on the season and are facing a Duke team that lost at No. 8 Notre Dame earlier in the week.

ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Hawks just continue to win. They enter tonight's home game with Philadelphia riding an 18-game winning streak. Atlanta's most recent win came last night when the Hawks beat the Blazers.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Tiger Woods is two and done in his debut tournament of the 2015 season. The former world No. 1 failed to make the cut yesterday after shooting a career worst 82 in the second round yesterday. Phil Mickelson also failed to make the cut after a 76 yesterday.
