LOUDON, N.H. (AP) — Joey Logano has advanced to the second round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship. Logano pulled away on the restart to win a green-white-checkered finish Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He led 73 laps in his fourth victory of the season, a race that had a season-high 15 cautions that wrecked results for several Chase drivers.

SINGAPORE (AP) — Lewis Hamilton took the lead in the Formula One drivers' championship by winning the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday. The Briton earned his seventh win of the season and second in a row to move to 241 points, three ahead of Nico Rosberg with five races left. Rosberg had to retire early with a mechanical failure.

UNDATED (AP) — The new Associated Press college football poll is out, and there are a couple unfamiliar names in the rankings. East Carolina is ranked in for the first time since 2008 and Mississippi State moved into the Top 25 for the first time in two seasons after breaking a long losing streak against LSU. The top seven teams are the same as last week, starting with No. 1 Florida State.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Heisman Trophy winner Jameis (JAYM'-his) Winston is back as quarterback for top-ranked Florida State after serving his one-game suspension for unruly behavior last week on campus. Winston cheered his teammates from the sideline Saturday night as Florida State squeaked by Clemson 23-17 in overtime at home.

KAPOLEI, Hawaii (AP) — Paul Goydos (GOY'-dohs) picked up his first Champions Tour victory at the Hawaii Championship, finishing one shot ahead of Fred Funk and Scott Dunlap. Goydos broke out of a tight pack with four straight birdies and closed with a 4-under 68 for a tournament-record 19-under total.
