Hiking the Bear Canyon Trail in Daggett County offers plenty of chances to see wildlife and has a spectacular view at the end. It's only 3 miles total and involves very few uphill sections, making it perfect for hiking with young children.
Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, will tour multiple national parks in Utah next week and also visit the San Juan County Bears Ears area, the controversial site of a possible new national monument. Hatch said he wants to stress access to public lands.

The National Forest Service is proposing a new fee structure for a number of popular trails in Big and Little Cottonwood canyons. The Forest Service said the money collected would help pay for maintenance and improvements of the trails.
