KANAB — A 13-year-old who inspired a community during her battle with cancer died Wednesday morning.
Jayci Glover, who had been fighting a rare form of terminal lymphoma for more than a year, died in her sleep. Family members said even though her life was short, they are comforted by their belief that they can be together forever after death.
"Jayci had a smile on her face through the end," her aunt said. "She was always worried about others and never complained."
Family members said that while Jayci had cancer, cancer never had Jayci.
"Jayci remained firm to the end assuring those she loved that even though her time on earth was short, she loved her family, her friends, her life and she will always be with us," family members wrote on the Fight Like Jayci Facebook page.

Jayci Glover could have wished to take an exotic trip or meet a celebrity, but what she really wanted was to express her gratitude for the community who continues to support her as she battles cancer.Jayci made national headlines after she used her wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation to donate a $7,500 check to Kanab High School. The money is going to be used to purchase a new digital scoreboard for the school's gym.
She wanted to use her wish to give back to a community that showed her love as she battled cancer. When Jayci returned to Kanab after receiving treatments in Salt Lake City, members of the community lined the streets to welcome her home.
Many were inspired by Jayci's strength and optimism as she struggled with health problems. Her mother, Heather Glover, said Jayci was always looking for ways to lift others up and that her visitors always left feeling encouraged.

"Jayci's spirit — if you can't draw strength from that, you can't draw strength from anything," said Kanab resident Bucky Orton.
Memorial services for Jayci will be held at the LDS Kaibab Stake Center at 1435 S. McAllister Drive on Saturday at 1 p.m. There will also be a viewings at the stake center on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
