PATAGONIA DESERT — Author J.K. Rowling gave readers a peek into the adult life of the former members of Dumbledore’s Army when she released a new Rita Skeeter gossip column Tuesday.

The short, published on Rowling’s Pottermore site, features the unmistakable voice of fictional “Daily Prophet” gossip correspondent Skeeter describing the Quidditch World Cup trip made by Harry Potter and friends.

"When word swept the campsite and stadium that a certain gang of infamous wizards (no longer the fresh-faced teenagers they were in their heyday, but nevertheless recognisable) had arrived for the final, excitement was beyond anything yet seen," it reads. "As the crowd stampeded, tents were flattened and small children mown down. Fans from all corners of the globe stormed towards the area where members of Dumbledore’s Army were rumoured to have been sighted, desperate above all else for a glimpse of the man they still call the Chosen One."

The 1500-word article teases fans of the Harry Potter series with details from the characters’ lives after the seventh book's epilogue.

In the story, Potter and his two sons camp out for the Quidditch World Cup final in the Patagonian Desert, along with Ron Weasley and his wife, Hermione Granger. Rowling uses Skeeter’s accusational and sensational tone to talk about the event, including a visit the characters have with fellow Triwizard Tournament competitor Viktor Krum.

“Apparently there are no hard feelings, as they embraced upon meeting (what really happened in that maze? Speculation is unlikely to be quelled by the warmth of their greeting),” the short reads of their encounter.

Rowling also gives fans a look into career changes and aspirations of members of Dumbledore’s Army.
