RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a suspect in the home invasion robbery of country singer Scotty McCreery and his friends.

Mikkail Jamal Shaw, 19, has been charged with armed robbery and conspiracy after he turned himself in Tuesday night, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said in a statement. It was not clear if Shaw has an attorney.

Police were also looking for other suspects, Sughrue said.

Officers were called to an apartment about a mile from North Carolina State University, where McCreery is a sophomore, around 2 a.m. Monday. McCreery was visiting the apartment when three armed men broke in and took wallets, cash and electronics, investigators said. No one was hurt.

McCreery, 20, won TV's "American Idol" in 2011 and was named best new artist at the Academy of Country Music Awards the next year. He also has been a pitchman for Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits.
