LAS VEGAS (AP) — Mexican musical icon Juan Gabriel is expected to be released from a Las Vegas hospital this weekend after being admitted Monday with pneumonia.

A tour publicist said in a statement Thursday that the 64-year-old singer was in very stable condition three days after being rushed to intensive care with fluid in his lungs.

Gabriel had performed a three-hour concert Sunday at the Mandalay Bay resort on the Las Vegas Strip as part of his "Volver" tour.

Shows scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday in Los Angeles were postponed to May 8 and May 9, respectively. A concert scheduled for Saturday in San Jose, Calif., has been rescheduled to May 16.

Juan Gabriel is one of the best-selling Latin recording artists of all time. His tour began earlier this month.
