LONDON (AP) - Carey Mulligan is heading to the London stage to play a teacher trying to rekindle feelings for a former flame.
Producers announced Friday that Mulligan will make her West End stage debut in a revival of David Hare's "Skylight" that opens in June.
Mulligan will star alongside Bill Nighy, as her former lover, and Matthew Beard, as his son, in Hare's play, which was first staged in 1995.
The production is directed by Stephen Daldry, who recently directed Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II in the award-winning play "The Audience."
Mulligan, who shot to fame in the movie "An Education" and recently played a 1960s folk singer in the Coen brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis," appeared on Broadway in 2008 in an acclaimed production of Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull."
