ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Officials say a Coast Guard helicopter crew medically evacuated an injured cruise ship passenger off Florida's east coast.
The U.S. Coast Guard reports that the 27-year-old man aboard the Carnival Fantasy began experiencing severe abdominal pain Wednesday.
An aircrew from Air Station Miami responded to the ship, which was more than 80 miles northeast of Cape Canaveral. The aircrew hoisted the man and a nurse off the cruise ship and then transported the man to Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach.
The man's condition wasn't immediately known.
