Recipe: Skillet Granola

Sometime you just can’t take anymore oatmeal! Get your oat fix with a little crunch with this toasty hot granola.

1 ½ cups rolled oats

½ cup your favorite nut

2 tablespoons canola oil

2 tablespoons maple syrup

½ cup your favorite dried fruit

Heat a cast iron pan on medium-high heat on campstove or over fire grate. Turn heat to low or move to a cooler part of the fire. Add nuts, stirring regularly. Once they start to have a nutty aroma, add oats. Over low heat, cook slowly until it becomes crispy and nutty, stirring regularly. Add canola oil stir for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup. Add dried fruit and eat warm, topped with milk if desired. Store leftovers in a covered container.
