The newly refurbished app for kids 'PopJam' provides a safe place for children to take and share their pictures via social media.
PopJam started in 2009 and used to be an app which was meant to be a humor site - which mimicked twitters format. Unfortunately it never made it. Now its been reformatted to work as a social network site for kids.
Parent company Mind Candy recently unveiled PopJam- although it was quietly released as a JellyChat in October of last year.
Aside from being very similar to instagram as you can comment and share, photos, and draw "doodles" in response to eachother. But also with PopJam your kids will be able to access educational material.
The 'Discover' section is unique in that it features popular brands such as LEGO, Mincraft, and Frozen so that they can search their favorite stuff.
Security wise, you should expect it to be similar to a private instagram account and there is a security team which works 24 hours a day to make sure your kids are safe.
