We've seen how wind power can be very useful for large scale energy, but what about for charging your cellphone. Texas researchers have created miniature windmills just for that. You could hook them to your phone and just hold them up in a light wind. These are tiny, measuring just tow millimeters, smaller than a Tic Tac. A company from Taiwan is looking at making these commercial.

London is considering a way that bicyclists could get around high above everyone's heads. A firm has designed this elevated bike lane called the Skycycle. The bike lanes would run above all the major commuter routes of the city. Cyclists would pay about a pound to ride on these car-free lanes. The idea is only a proposal for now, but could make bicycle-commuting safer.

Researchers at MIT have developed a way for piano students to learn by seeing. It uses something called a ghost performance. The reflection you see is of a player's hands on the keys and displays it on top of the keys. They envision teachers recording their lessons, sending them out remotely to students, and having those students play them back based on the video.
