The pheasant, like many Americans, is an immigrant to North America. Did you know that Ben Franklin's son-in-law, Richard Bach, released pheasants in New Jersey. George Washington had some sent to his Mount Vernon estate during his presidency, and the Governors of New Hampshire and New York also attempted to introduce the pheasant. None of these introductions succeeded however. It wasn't until 1881 when Judge Owen Denny shipped 30 Chinese ringnecks to his home in Oregon that pheasants became established in the US.
Our Burt Brothers quiz question tonight is. What year did pheasants get introduced into Utah?
The answer, just ahead when KSL Outdoors powered by Ford returns.
