Located just below the reservoir is a ghost town called Piedmont. Piedmont was settled 1866. It was once a thriving small railroad and timber town that help build and supply the Union Pacific Railroad. The Guild family was one of the first families to help settle Piedmont. During it's prime, Piedmont had over twenty buildings, four saloons, the Guild Mercantile Store, even a school.
