Editor’s Note: KSL does not recommend approaching any wildlife in any manner.FAIRMONT HOT SPRINGS, British Columbia — A group of golfers needed to retreat after at least four bears invade a putting green, but one of those bears makes up for the inconvenience.

Many fancy resorts are located in remote areas, so it’s no surprise that golfers may encounter wildlife during a round of golf. While the encounters can range from adorable chipmunk sightings to “let’s get out of here, there’s a giant moose on the course,” it’s probably not often that the wildlife becomes more entertaining than the game play.

But entertainment is just what happened to some golfers when a group of bears invaded their green. One bear in particular became curious about the flag on the green, and he put on a funny little show, which golfers caught on video.

The bear’s curiosity seems to mostly lie in the flag itself, not the pole. But it’s the nature of the pole that makes for the entertainment. The bear pulls the pole with its paws and pushes it with its back to get at the tempting piece of waving cloth. But since the pole isn’t fixed in any way, the bear twirls around and around in a Three Stooges-like display of pure entertainment.

Once the bear gets to the flag and finds it’s not all the great, it decides that a golf ball is just the ticket to make its day and saunters off to the edge of the green to play with it.

I’m guessing that the golfer’s buddies let him take a ball drop.
