TORTOISE TOWN — As required by their natures, dogs, cats and often other domesticated animals can’t help but chase a moving target.

But we don’t expect the stereotypically shy and retiring tortoise to be up for a chase. Well, unless it’s in a Loony Toons or Disney cartoon.

One pet owner found that his tiny tortoise is not only up for the chase, but it’s energy seems to be too much for the body nature gave him as he pursues a remote-controlled truck.

The car bursts forward in spurts as the tortoise tries to keep up. Its plastron (under belly) clippity-clops on the wooden floor since his legs don’t seem to be made to process both the lift and speed required for the chase. And the slick floor doesn't help either.

We don’t see if our friend the tortoise ever gets the satisfaction of catching the truck, but he can sleep easy at night knowing that he’s entertaining thousands upon thousands on the Internet.
