SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — One person is dead and six are hospitalized after a boat capsized during a family water-skiing outing in northern Utah. Rich County deputies say the boat that overturned yesterday on Bear Lake was carrying a man and a woman, four teenage girls and a seven-year-old girl. KSL-TV reports that the 7-year-old and two teens are in critical condition at the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Information about the family member who died was not immediately available.

ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — Testimony has begun in the trial of a 56-year-old Cedar City man accused of fatally shooting two people in 2013. The Spectrum of St. George reports that Thad Robertson is facing two counts of aggravated murder in the deaths of Diann Bailey and Jeffery Lane Hardy at a home in Cedar City. Police say they responded to reports of a man who wanted to kill himself and found Robertson outside the home.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Health officials say all but one of the 55 people who fell ill with suspected food poisoning while staying at a Salt Lake City homeless shelter have recovered. The Salt Lake County health department says they're talking with everyone who got sick to determine what and where they ate. Officials say it appears to have been a food handling error.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Roman Catholic Church bishop John C. Wester has bid an emotional farewell to Salt Lake City before for his new appointment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Wester has led Utah's Catholics since March 2007. The Salt Lake City Diocese announced last month that Wester will replace Archbishop Michael Sheehan in the Santa Fe post.
