WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — A Catholic high school religion teacher is charged with possessing child pornography in Marathon County.
Investigators say they found nearly 100 photos and 12 DVDs which showed sexually explicit images of boys at the teacher's Wausau home.
Fifty-year-old Michael Switalski is charged with eight felony counts of child pornography. Switalski is a teacher at Newman Catholic High School and has coached the varsity boys' soccer team for 20 seasons. He has been placed on administrative leave.
Switalski's attorney, Lou Ann Bohn, asked that he be released on a signature bond. Bohn says every student at Newman recognizes Switalski as a "pillar of the community."
Daily Herald Media (http://wdhne.ws/1mfgK2Y ) says the school issued a statement which says none of the images confiscated by police involve any student at Newman.
