SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released a new series of videos about the church organization and how its programs work.

The four- to 10-minute long videos serve as an introduction to the church, its members, programs and organizations. They feature church members answering common questions about the religion, and talking about experiences, beliefs and practices.

The longest video, "The Church at a Glance," is an overview.

"Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints compels me to help other people. And because the church gives me those opportunities ... I realize I really am a disciple of Jesus Christ, as the Savior defined Christianity," one church member said on the video.

Other videos showcase humanitarian efforts, beliefs, missionary work, temples, family, education and Church history and organization.

In a news release, the church said it plans to translate and customize the new videos for use worldwide in the future.

The videos, which the church said are a resource "for anyone seeking to share or learn more about what Mormons believe," are available on Mormon Newsroom's website and YouTube channel, and in the church's Gospel Library app.

The church said it has received frequent requests for introductory information from the media and the public as they've become more familiar with the church in recent years.
