SALT LAKE CITY — Using more than 107,000 photos, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir gave people a look into the setup of one of their most prestigious concerts of the year.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Orchestra at Temple Square performed their annual Christmas Concert series Dec. 14 and 15, with a dress rehearsal preceding them. Journalist Tom Brokaw and tenor Alfie Boe were the guest talent for the concert.

For the event, the choir compiled a timelapse video using upwards of 107,000 photos taken every 20 seconds over 35 days, showing the setup, rehearsal and take-down process of the concert series.

The choir is comprised of 360 volunteer members. Each concert filled the 22,000 capacity Conference Center with audience members picked through a random selection process.

The choir was established on Aug. 22, 1847 just 29 days after the Mormon pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake City Valley. They have earned two platinum and five gold albums since then.
