SALT LAKE CITY — Just in time for Christmas, Apple lovers got a special treat Saturday.

Apple opened its new downtown store in City Creek Saturday morning. The store is larger than the old location at the Gateway, and was highly anticipated at the new mall. Managers at City Creek say the store was the number one requested store since the mall opened.

In anticipation of the opening, the line of customers wrapped around the building waiting for their turn to get inside and check out the store.

"It's exciting, it's something new and something fun to be a part of, I guess. I'm a huge apple fan and it's one to cross off the bucket list I guess," said Kaden Steele of Soda Springs, ID.

Apple employees formed their own line for the traditional "welcome" cheer for the first customers through the doors.
