METROPOLIS — For the few of you who did not see "The Dark Knight Rises" over the weekend you missed out on the new trailer for "Man of Steel," the newest take on Superman. We've included the trailer on the story so you can see what the rest of the world saw before watching the conclusion to Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy.

While the trailer itself is intriguing there is something many people didn't realize, Warner Bros. actually released two trailers for the new film. Both teasers contain the exact same visuals, but the narration varies from one to the other.

In one of the teasers we hear the voice of Kevin Costner, who plays Clark Kent's adoptive father Jonathan Kent. In the other we hear Jor- El, Superman's birth father who is played by Russell Crowe. Both versions of the trailer give us some different insights, so let's break them down.

Let's start with the visuals. When it was revealed that Zack Snyder would direct "Man of Steel" everyone knew the look of the film would be nothing short of amazing, but many questioned if the stylized look of Snyder would jive with the Superman universe.

In the trailer we see that the look of the film is gorgeous, but it's missing the hyper-stylized feel of his earlier films like, "300" and "Watchmen." Instead of the CGI heavy eye candy, we were treated to real world beauty with bright colors and gritty tones.

The trailer makes sure to play up the fact that Christopher Nolan has a hand in the film. The Dark Knight director is the producer on "Man of Steel" and also helped put together the story. With Nolan behind the scenes we figured we could expect the moral conflict he brings to his characters. The trailer seems to solidify our assumptions that Superman will not only fight a physical foe, but a personal one as well. In the beginning of the trailer we see Clark Kent on a fishing boat, likely running from the responsibility of being a superhero, a daunting task for anyone, even Kal-El.

The Kevin Costner trailer seems to play heavily on this moral conflict.

"You're not just anyone. One day you're going to have to make a choice," Costner says in the trailer. "You have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be. Whoever that man is good character or bad, he's going to change the world."

This narration could likely cause a conflict we have yet to see in a Superman film. It's possible that Clark was at odds with his father Jonathan and did not want to face these choices his father Jonathan is outlining and ran. It's also very possible Jonathan meets an early death which sets Clark on a path to make his father proud. This could explain the shot in the trailer when fingers caress a picture of a young Clark and Jonathan. Of course, this is all speculation.

The second trailer features the voice of Russell Crowe. The narration runs along similar lines, but from a very different perspective.

"You will give the people an ideal to strive towards," Crowe says. "They will race behind you. They will stumble. They will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."

This tends to suggest that Clark will encounter opposition and pain from those he is trying to protect. They will likely not understand him, but in time they will come to love and accept him, but upon the condition he fulfills his duty.

While the trailers are just over 90 seconds, they give us a look at a totally different Superman than we've ever seen. We will have to wait until the film is released to see if the new take wows us or leaves us wanting, but these teaser trailers are promising.
