SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh is declining to respond to reports that he is weighing an offer from Michigan to become the new football coach at his alma mater. Several media outlets, including ESPN and the NFL Network, have reported Harbaugh has a six-year offer on the table from the Wolverines. Harbaugh has one season remaining on the $25 million, five-year contract he signed in January 2011.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville will start Blake Bortles at quarterback tonight against Tennessee. He was limited in practice this week after sustaining a sprained right foot in Sunday's game against Baltimore. Bortles has 10 touchdown passes and an NFL-high 17 interceptions this season. He has been sacked 46 times.

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose is sitting out tonight's game against the New York Knicks because of an illness. Rose had played in 11 consecutive games as he works his way back from the torn meniscus that ended his 2013-14 season. He is averaging 16.8 points and 5.1 assists per game.

NEW YORK (AP) — Milwaukee center Larry Sanders has been suspended for one game without pay by the NBA for pushing Portland forward Nicolas Batum in the back as he elevated toward the basket. The fourth-quarter incident in the Bucks' loss at Portland on Wednesday night was upgraded to a Flagrant Foul 2. Sanders will sit out tonight's game in Sacramento.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Former Atlanta right-hander Kris Medlen has agreed to an $8.5 million, two-year contract with the Kansas City Royals after missing last season while he recovered from a second Tommy John surgery. The 29-year-old went 14-12 with a 3.11 ERA in 2013, his only full season as a starter, and went 4-0 with a 1.00 ERA in his last five starts.
