NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Jets have announced that Geno Smith will get the start at quarterback over Michael Vick for the game against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night. Vick started for the 2-9 Jets in the last three games, but struggled against Buffalo before being replaced by Smith in Monday's loss in Detroit.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The 76ers are hoping to avoid equaling a team record when they host Brooklyn tonight. Philadelphia heads into the game with an 0-14 record, one loss short of the worst start to an NBA season in franchise history.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Portland marches its eight-game winning streak into Charlotte tonight to take on the Hornets. The Trail Blazers' winning streak is the best since winning 11 in a row from Nov. 8-25, 2013. Despite an 11-3 start Portland only has the third-best record in the Western Conference behind Memphis and Golden State.

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas (AP) — No. 2 Wisconsin, No. 5 North Carolina, No. 18 Florida and No. 22 UCLA headline the eight-team bracket at the Battle 4 Atlantis, which gets underway today in the Bahamas. Butler, Oklahoma, Georgetown and Alabama-Birmingham round out the field that has a combined 23-4 record.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) — The New York Islanders are off to the best 21-game start to a season in franchise history with a 15-6 mark heading into tonight's home game against Washington. The Islanders have won four in a row and nine of 10.
