MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The starting pitching is set for tomorrow night's All-Star game in Minneapolis. Getting the ball for the American League is Felix Hernandez, a winner of 11 games against two defeats, while Adam Wainwright is going for the National League. He is 12-4 with a 1.83 earned run average this season.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Home Run Derby contest takes center stage tonight in Minneapolis. The respective captains for the American and National Leagues are Toronto's Jose Bautista (boh-TEE'-stah) and Troy Tulowitzki (too-loh-WIHT'-skee) of the Rockies. Oakland's Yoenis Cespedes (yoh-EHN'-ehs SEHS'-peh-dehs) is the defending champ and is trying to become the first back-to-back champ since Ken Griffey Jr. in 1998-99.

PLANCHER-LES-MINES, France (AP) — The big news out of the Tour de France today did not involve the winner of the race or who has the yellow jersey. Two-time champion Alberto Contador (KAHN'-tuh-dohr) of Spain was involved in a crash and withdrew from the competition. The winner of today's tenth stage was Italy's Vincenzo Nibali, who also has the yellow jersey.

CHICAGO (AP) — Kevin Dineen (duh-NEEN') is back in the NHL. Dineen, who coached Canada's women's hockey team to a gold medal at the Sochi (SOH'-chee) Olympics, has been named an assistant with the Chicago Blackhawks. Dineen was head coach of the Florida Panthers for two-plus seasons before being fired last fall.

KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) — Jamaican sprinters Asafa (ah-SAH'-fah) Powell and Sherone Simpson are clear to compete again. The Court of Arbitration for Sport says it has upheld in part appeals filed by the two. Each tested positive for a banned stimulant at Jamaica's national trials last year and was suspended for 18 months. Today CAS announced it had decided to reduce their period of ineligibility to six months. That time has already been served.
