CLEVELAND (AP) — LeBron James is heading back to Cleveland. The self-proclaimed "kid from Northeast Ohio" writes in Sports Illustrated that his goal is to win as many NBA titles as possible. James went to the NBA finals each of the four years he was in Miami, winning two.

CLEVELAND (AP)— Miami Heat managing general partner Mickey Arison writes on Twitter that he is "shocked and disappointed" with LeBron James' decision to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cheers broke out, car horns tooted and the whoops of joyous fans filled the streets of Cleveland as the word spread that basketball's prodigal son is returning to the Cavaliers. Most fans seem to have forgiven him for "The Decision" made on television in 2010 in which he announced he was leaving for Miami.

SOUTHPORT, England (AP) — Michelle Wie has gone from major champion to her first weekend off in nearly a year. Wie, the Women's U.S. Open champion, had a double bogey and bogey on the 16th and 17th holes on her way to carding a 6-over 78 in the second round and missing the cut in the Women's British Open. Beatriz Recari of Spain and So Yeon Ryu are tied for the lead at 3 under par.

EPERNAY, France (AP) — Matteo Trentin wins the seventh stage of the Tour de France in a photo finish, after a group crash and hilly final section split the pack. Italy's Vincenzo Nibali has the overall lead while Tejay van Garderen of the U.S. lost time in the title chase because of the crash in the final stretch of the 146-mile ride.

STOCKHOLM (AP) — Serena Williams is opting out of the Swedish Open. Williams says she's using one of her two allowed withdrawals to skip next week's tournament, where she is the defending champion, because she is "still not at 100 percent." At Wimbledon, Williams couldn't get the ball over the net in a doubles match with her sister Venus, stopping after three games because of what was called a viral illness.
