MANTI — A Sanpete County woman now faces criminal charges after police say she asked a teenager to take a topless picture of her so she could send it to another person, and also let unlicensed juveniles drive her car.

Jessica Lee Layton, 28, of Mt. Pleasant, was charged in 6th District Court Tuesday with dealing in harmful materials to a minor, a third-degree felony; lewdness involving a child, a class A misdemeanor; and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a class B misdemeanor.

On June 11, a Sanpete County sheriff's deputy was called to Manti City Park where Layton was allowing "unlicensed juveniles to drive her vehicle," according to court documents.

Layton had left by the time police arrived. But while investigating the incident, a deputy found a juvenile who said that Layton had "taken him into the restroom at the park and asked him to take a picture of her breasts so she could send it to a friend," the charges state.

Deputies served a search warrant at Layton's house two days later. She told them a guy she was Snapchatting with wanted her to send a topless photo and the boy told her that he'd be "willing to help her take the picture," the charges state.

The boy also had the photo on his phone. He claimed Layton sent it to him, but Layton told police the juvenile ran off with her phone after he took the picture and sent it to himself, the charges state.
