A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY — It's here. The one you've been waiting for. The thing you've been dying to see ever since the credits rolled at the end of "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens." We now have our first peek at the next chapter in the Star Wars saga, "Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi."

The trailer premiered Friday morning at the Star Wars Celebration where actors Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill and others were in attendance. The first trailer for the new film is just over 2 minutes and doesn't give much when it comes to storyline, but it does manage to whet our appetite and get us excited for more.

Speculation is about to run rampant online about everything with questions ranging from "Why didn't we see Benecio del Toro's new villain?" to "Will we get to see more of the Knight of Ren?"

Overall, the first trailer is fantastic and ups our already high expectations for the new Star Wars flick. With the talents of director Rian Johnson behind the camera, we're sure to get a visually stunning film and likely one with a bit of a darker tone and plenty of humor. Personally, I'm a big Johnson fan and I'm really excited he's helming this project.

The darker tone would not surprise me considering this is the second dip in this third series, and if it follows suit with the original trilogy, as Episode VII did, then the dark side is going to come out on top and things will look bleak for our heroes as the screen goes black.

"Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi" won't hit theaters until Christmas, so you can be sure that this trailer will be watched hundreds of millions of times before then and we'll likely get a couple of new trailers before then as well.

Let us know in the comments what you think of the new trailer.
