SALT LAKE CITY — Well, it’s Monday again and after losing an hour Sunday, people may not be feeling ready to face the work week.

Honoring a girl with cancer

“This story shows how caring people really can be! My daughter was diagnosed with Wilms tumor (cancer) on Sept. 11, 2016. She has been through a lot. My other daughter dances at Studio 48 in Roy, and they dedicated a whole dance to the song "Angels Among Us" to my daughter. They performed this dance in February and won a huge trophy that they presented to my daughter at a dance performance last night. … The world could use more people like this! Thank you!”
Wedding at a hospital

“My aunt and her sweetheart Jim were to be married at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Just two hours before, my grandma Sue (mother of the bride) fell getting out of the shower and hit her hip on the tile requiring medical transportation, and later (found) out that she would need a complete hip replacement and would not be able to make it to her own daughter’s (and her last child to be married) wedding. She was so devastated and heartbroken.
“The selfless and kind person that my aunt is decided to postpone the wedding till later in the day and make arrangements so that her mother could see her be married. She would not let her mom miss this special day. With the help of my aunt (the bride’s) bishop and wife, they were able to locate the Life Flight team and doctor to get permission to roll grandma down to the waterfall in front of the hospital where Heather decided she would be married so her mother could be there. Even though it wasn't originally planned there or it wasn't the ideal circumstance, Heather made it happen so her mother could see her be married to her sweetheart. This was such a heart touching moment for everyone involved.”
Officer goes beyond the call of duty

“On Saturday, Feb. 25 about 4:30 p.m., I went to my van to go see my granddaughter and noticed my doors were wide open. I had been burglarized. One of the items taken were the cremains of my brother, which I had in my van to take to my niece. I was crushed and heartbroken. I filed a report and hung flyers around my apartment complex, but didn't expect to find them or get them back.
“But to my surprise, on the 27th, I got a call from Officer Josh Mortensen saying a stolen car was recovered and in it was my brother's cremains. This kind and selfless officer took time from his day off to hunt me down by going to the mortuary to get my contact information, then called me and brought them to me. He knew it would be important to get them back ASAP. He could have just let them sit and wait until the police report connected them to me, but his kind heart made him look all day for me.”
