GREEN RIVER, Emery County — Authorities temporarily closed I-70 eastbound after a semitruck caught fire near Green River in Emery County Wednesday afternoon.

The Utah Department of Transportation responded to the fire around 1 p.m. after receiving reports of a semitruck on fire 15 miles west of Green River.

Police closed I-70 eastbound and reopened it two hours later.

The driver and a passenger of the semitruck were both able to get out safely. Investigators will work to determine how the fire started.
