SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A 24-year-old former Utah State football player has pleaded guilty to felony drug and weapon charges after he was charged with selling drugs.
The Herald-Journal reported that additional charges against Christopher Copier of Logan were dismissed when he pleaded guilty Monday in 1st District Court to possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession or purchase of a firearm by a restricted person.
His sentencing is scheduled in January.
Copier was arrested in April after allegedly selling drugs to undercover officers.
Police said marijuana, the mood-altering drug ecstasy, anxiety pills and other medications were found in a search of his home.
Copier was a tight end who was suspended from the team following his arrest.
