GIFTINGTON — It’s the little things that make life a little brighter.
A man who recently received a pair of shoes for his birthday would more than likely fully attest to that statement, but we don’t need a signed affidavit from him to believe his testimony — we just have to watch this video.
According to an off-screen voice in the video, this dad has wanted something very specific for at least five years — a pair of light-up sneakers. You know the kind. It’s the kind that have lights in the sole that flash for a few seconds with each step. In fact, they were all the rage with kids when they first came out.
One of those “kids” who really wanted light-up shoes turned out to be a kid-at-heart who didn’t believe such a joyous creation would also come in adult sizes. So when he opened his very own pair of light-ups for his birthday, his excitement is way better than a kid on Christmas morning.
This charming fellow can’t even stay in his seat for more than a second when he realizes that he’s holding his own pair of light-up sneakers. And I can’t be sure (because of the lighting of the video), but it even sounds like he get a little misty-eyed as he gazes lovingly at his new shoes.
May he walk a million miles in his sweet, sweet, beloved kicks, and may we all feel light-up-shoes excited about something one day.
