SALT LAKE CITY — Only six days stand between now and the day Ute fans pack Rice-Eccles Stadium for the season opener with Southern Utah University on Sept. 1. With that, KSL.com continues its countdown of Utah players by highlighting two players who will wear No. 6 this year in Kyle Fulks and Tyson Cisrow.

Kyle Fulks, JR, wide receiver

Fulks is finally getting his chance to shine after being a three-star cornerback out of Katy High School in Texas. He originally committed to Baylor but was forced to play at Blinn Community College due to academic issues, where he played one year and redshirted another. There, he played on both sides of the ball as a freshman, mainly showcasing his blazing speed (he ran a 10.3 100-meter dash in high school).

When he first committed to the Utes, he was viewed as a cornerback but flipped completely to the offensive side of the ball this offseason. After strong spring and fall camps, Fulks is looking to make people forget (not entirely) about Britain Covey while he’s on his mission. Like Covey, Fulks, who is slated to be the starter in the slot, is quick off the line and has that burst of speed that many players covet.

He’s been getting high praise from the coaches, as of late, and fans should expect to see him make some plays in 2016.

Tyson Cisrow, RS-FR, cornerback

Cisrow, another product from Florida powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas High School, committed to the Utes with his high school teammate Chris Hart. A three-star recruit on the best team in the state, Cisrow redshirted last season after being a 7A second-team all-state selection by the Miami Herald.

With the Utes being set in the secondary, it is unlikely Cisrow will see any meaningful minutes in 2016. That said, many starters are seniors and Cisrow’s number might be called upon as soon as next season.
