SANDY, Utah (AP) — Luke Mulholland scored in the 64th minute to lift Real Salt Lake into a 1-1 draw with the San Jose Earthquakes on Friday night.

Mulholland, from the center of the box, volleyed a chipped feed — over the head of two defenders — from Javier Morales past goalkeeper David Bingham.

Chris Wondolowski poked home a corner kick by Simon Dawkins that deflected off a defender to give San Jose (6-6-8) a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute.

Bingham had a season-high six saves for the Earthquakes, including a diving stop of a low liner from just outside the box by Kyle Beckerman in the 15th.

Real Salt Lake (8-6-7) is winless in its last six matches.
