THE PAST AND THE FUTURE — I keep trying to think of something clever to say about this video, but I keep coming up empty because at the end of the day, it's just so cool.
"Back to the Future" is one of my all-time favorite movies, which means that Michael J. Fox will always be one of my favorite actors. As a kid, I had the Marty McFly vest and wanted nothing more than to learn to play the guitar and shred "Johnny B. Goode." Well, maybe I wanted a time-traveling DeLorean more.
When I saw this video a few days ago, I knew I had to do the Have You Seen This on it. I am admittedly not the biggest Coldplay fan, but they just went up, like, 40 notches in my book for this move.
In a recent show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Coldplay invited Fox to the stage where they first played "Earth Angel." That was fun, but it wasn't until that riff from Chuck Berry kicked in that a huge smile was plastered to my face. Watching Fox play that guitar like an older version of Marty McFly was both nostalgic and inspiring. Fox is a testament of a human being not letting themselves be defined by a disease.
This video is fantastic and well worth a watch.
