GOING LIVE — Live sports are amazing.
Where else can you get the jaw-dropping feats of athleticism, emotional roller coasters, and reporters showing us the joys of TV production?
Here are some of our favorite moments from this past weekend.
Take a bow
Sports television can be hard, everyone.
KSL-TV reporter Brittany Copeland learned that the hard way Sunday night. Watch her try to sneak past anchor Rod Zundel after presenting a story about BYU's Kalani Sitake in the video above.
We'll wait for you.
Don't worry; she's OK. A little embarrassed, maybe, but who hasn't accidentally tripped on a television set during a live broadcast in the Salt Lake media market before?
Copeland declined to add further comment, other than to say she will never wear heels on the set again. Now you should all go watch her lunchtime interview with Sitake here. Nobody was injured in its filming.
Offseason workout
Utah Valley leading scorer Konner Frey was hard at work in offseason workouts Thursday.
We’re not sure what this drill is called, but we think Wolverines head coach Mark Pope would approve — even if it was with the volleyball team.

High-flying cadet
Army softball star Kasey McCravey tried to get around to home plate during a Patriot League tournament elimination game Saturday against Lehigh.
But she didn’t slide, nor did she put her shoulder into the opposing catcher.
In the second of two games just 30 minutes apart, McCravey went over the defense with a high-flying leap to tag home plate and help the Black Knights to a 3-1 win and a spot in Sunday’s Patriot League championship game (see the complete video above).
That’s why McCravey was voted conference player of the year.
Swinging at air
Texas’ Rougned Odor took offense at the slide by Toronto’s Jose Bautista in the eighth inning Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas.
It’s safe to say he wasn’t happy.

Odor’s punch lands squarely on Bautista’s left cheek, and the Venezuelan sent the Dominican’s iconic sunglasses flying off his helmet-clad head.
The Rangers got the last laugh with a 7-6 win, but the game will be best known for The Punch and two bench-clearing brawls that ensued from the chippiness.
