OGDEN — Sara Hingsberger and Aubrey Whitmer each blasted a home run Friday to lift the Weber State softball team into the Big Sky tournament championship with a 6-0 win over Idaho State.

Hingsberger ripped a three-run homer in the first inning to give the Wildcats (36-17) all the scoring they would need. Reigning Big Sky player of the year Whitmer added a two-run shot in the third inning, and Mackinze Corta scratched across a run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning of the result.

Kirtlyn Bohling earned the win in the circle, spinning a two-hit shutout in seven innings with two strikeouts and no walks.

The Wildcats will go for their second-straight conference tournament title Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
