SALT LAKE CITY — There is no shortage of bad news spreading across the internet on a daily basis, and we could all use more good news.

KSL.com strives to bring that good news to its readers through its Uplifting section and weekly "Make Your Week" column.

If you're looking for a better Monday morning, read the following stories.

He makes her smile

Emily Y.

"Every morning when I drive into work there is a person holding an advertising sign for a local store on the corner; we have all seen these before. However, this guy is different and should be spotlighted for giving drivers a smile every day. He dresses up each day as a different superhero and dances his pants off while holding the advertising sign, and he is really good. Puts a smile on my face every morning and he should know what he is doing is small but has an impact. He is on the corner of 3300 East and Big Cottonwood Canyon Road."

"Sir, go get whatever you need. I've got you."

Emily S.

"I was in line at the grocery store and two men (baseball cap and go cart) were in front of me. Baseball cap says to go cart, 'Is that all you got?' pointing at the 2-liter bottle of Diet Coke. Go cart says 'Yep. Don't get paid until Tuesday.' Baseball cap to cashier: 'Put that with mine.' Go cart says, 'Thank you so much!' Then baseball cap says, 'Do you need anything else? Come on, let's go get you what you need.' And go cart thanks him again. Go cart goes to get what he needs and comes back with only Cheetos. Baseball cap says, 'That's it?' And go cart says, 'Well I could use some lunch meat.' Baseball cap says, 'Sir, go get whatever you need. I've got you.'

At this point, I leave the store with tears in my eyes and a huge smile on my face. There are great, compassionate people in this world! Thank you baseball cap for reminding me of that and for reminding me that the important things are not reading all the speculation about how Prince died, but looking around us at other people, noticing their needs and then meeting them. Because that's what Christ would do."

Lost and found

Andria B.

"Three years ago, we took the family on a Disney cruise. When we got to the Salt Lake airport to leave, my husband realized his wallet was gone — $800 cash and credit cards. Panic. Not ideal. He thought maybe it had fallen out of his pocket when he had to open the car door to get the ticket for long-term parking. Our 17-year-old son took off running for the parking lot (we were in the terminal). He got to the lot and was looking around, digging through the snow, when a man drove over and asked if he lost something. He told him his dad lost his wallet. The guy had just found it there, gave it to our son with everything still inside. Oh my goodness. I can never personally thank him, but wanted to send my appreciation out there. Thank you! There are still an awfully lot of good people in the world!"
