EARTH — NASA is celebrating Earth Day with a social media campaign.
The campaign gives people an inside look "into the myriad activities the space agency conducts in a typical day to study and protect our home planet," NASA stated on its website.
NASA encouraged everyone to join the fun by using the hashtag #24Seven on social media or on the agency's Facebook page.
The agency uses a variety of technology to monitor the Earth's sea levels, climate, polar ice, forests and more to make sure our planet's vital signs are in check.
As a nice secondary benefit with all of this technology looking at Earth, NASA captures some amazing pictures of our planet. Make sure to check out the photo gallery for some of the best images captured by the agency.
