Happy Earth Day! What better way to celebrate Earth Day than to go solar and give back?
Going solar acts similarly to an echo effect. An echo effect, like the sun's rays or a ripple in water, shows how one small act can have a far-reaching impact. Shout into the Grand Canyon and for a good minute or so, you can continue to hear your voice echoing back to you.
Here are 3 ways going solar has an echo effect.
Creating positive change
By small efforts today, like recycling a bottle instead of throwing it in the trash, we are capable of creating positive change. Going solar has an immediate echo effect that creates positive change by reducing energy bills, increasing your home value (one study states that people are willing to pay $15,000 more for a home with solar!) and receiving state and federal solar tax credits. A small positive change today can have a big impact tomorrow.
Commitment to community
The Auric Echo program, run by Auric Solar, is announcing their "Buy Solar, Give Solar" initiative. For every kW installed on the homes or business of people like you, Auric Solar will make a donation of free solar for a deserving organization. The first recipient will be the YWCA, the largest women's organization in the United States.
Going solar will have an immediate impact on a community organization.
Protecting the environment
Going solar has the ability to provide electricity needs for a home "with about 80 percent lower carbon emissions than fossil fuels," as stated in a study from University of California, Berkeley. So, along with cutting down on bills and improving your community, you'll be contributing to bettering the health of the whole earth!
