THE GREAT OUTDOORS — This weekly column highlights user-submitted photos and video of Utahns exploring our beautiful state. Watch for it each Thursday morning to get ideas for your next outdoors adventure.
The inversion is terrible along the Wasatch Front right now. This week saw several red air quality days in Salt Lake City, and the haze and pollution are just hovering above the city. If the poor air quality is getting you down, take refuge by hiking above it or visiting one of Utah's 14 ski resorts.
Residents around the state are escaping the terrible air quality by snowshoeing, hiking, skiing, fat biking, trail running and ice fishing and they submitted some great photos for this week's gallery.
Whether you are into mountain biking, riding ATVs, boating, snowboarding, hiking or hunting, Utah can accommodate your outdoors needs — and we'd love to see photos of you in action.
Send pictures or video of your recent outdoor activities in Utah's backcountry to fjolley@ksl.com. We'd love to highlight your adventures — especially the winter sports this season.
