SOUTH SALT LAKE — A man was taken to the hospital with a head injury after being struck in a crosswalk by a turning vehicle.

Around 10 p.m. Monday, a man was crossing the intersection at 3300 South and 700 East when a driver turning left struck him, according to South Salt Lake police Sgt. Darren Carr.

The driver, who Carr said did not see the man, immediately stopped and called dispatch.

The man sustained a head injury, but was expected to recover, Carr said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was kept overnight.

The crash did shut down southbound 700 East for some time while police investigated and cleaned up the scene.

No drugs or alcohol were involved, according to Carr.
