ALASKAN WILDERNESS — A skier was awarded for descending what was deemed the “line of the year” as part of a skiing documentary.
The documentary, “Days of My Youth,” examines the joys and struggles of skiers who dedicate their life to the sport, according to Red Bull Media House. The movie was filmed over a two-year period and highlights 10 skiing areas around the world, including Utah’s Snowbird.
As part of the documentary, skier Cody Townsend was filmed skiing down a steep and narrow tunnel-like chute in the Alaskan wilderness. The intense video clip was posted to YouTube on Dec. 8 and quickly garnered over 2 million views.
Townsend was awarded for skiing the “best line of the year” at the 2014 Powder Awards on Dec. 5.
