SALT LAKE CITY — With a name like Wolfgang and a favorite hobby of collecting coins, some might say Wolfgang isn't like other boys his age.

"(Collecting coins) is something I've done for some time," he said.

While some of his peers may pick an afternoon at the arcade, he prefers a rare coin shop and the company of its shopkeepers. But just like every coin in his collection needs its own place, so does he.

"I don't really have a family right now," he said. "My parents, my old family did some really bad stuff and I'm in foster care now."

Wolfgang entered the Utah foster care system a little more than a year ago. He's now missing something more valuable than all the coins in the world.

"If I don't have a family, I just feel lonely," he said.

He says he's grateful for the chance to tell people who he is.

"I was lucky enough to get the opportunity, you know, to be on TV so people can see me."

Wolfgang excels in his high school and plans for the future despite not knowing who will be with him.

"I want to be a mechanical engineer," he said.

The coins he collects are a legacy of the past, but Wolfgang hopes to leave his past where it belongs. He wants to turn the page and start a new chapter with a family he can call his own.

"As long as they're nice people, that's about it. All I want is someone that's nice and they care. I don't need someone who is rich or anything."
