LOGAN — Utah State began Mountain West Conference play with a convincing 34-16 win against the Air Force Falcons Saturday night. Quarterback Darell Garretson continued his hot start as the starter and USU's tenacious defense forced four turnovers.
Utah State didn't wasted anytime. Garretson found wide receiver Hunter Sharp on the first play of the game and again later in the first quarter as the Aggies jumped out to a 14-0 lead.

Sophomore linebacker Nick Vigil continued to dominate both sides of ball with an 8-yard touchdown run. Vigil followed up his TD with an interception on the very next possession. Nick's brother, Zach, also had an incredible game with a career-high 22 tackles and two sacks. The brothers finished the night with a combined 33 tackles, one interception and a touchdown.

Utah State's defense kept the Falcons out of the end zone most of the night and held Air Force to field goals. Most who watched the game seemed to be asking themselves the same question.
