CINCINNATI (AP) — A low-level Republican Party official from Ohio has resigned over the GOP's nomination of Donald Trump as its presidential candidate.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports (http://cin.ci/2aoCUjT ) George White, a precinct executive in the city of Wyoming, submitted his resignation on Friday, a day after Trump formally accepted the nomination at the GOP's convention in Cleveland.
There are about 380 precinct executives in Hamilton County.
White said in his resignation letter that he cannot support Trump as the nominee, and therefore, cannot encourage other Republican voters to do so.
Hamilton County GOP chairman Alex Triantafilou says he will speak with the Wyoming ward chairperson to find White's replacement, who will be selected by the Hamilton County GOP executive committee.
