Brown holds off Dartmouth's late rally, wins 80-75

HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — Steven Spieth and Tavon Blackmon scored 14 points apiece and Brown held off Dartmouth's late rally for an 80-75 victory on Friday night.

Brown (12-15, 3-8 Ivy League) snapped a five-game losing streak. Dartmouth (6-18, 3-8) has lost two of its last three games.

The Bears had an 11-point lead with 2:13 to play. Guilien Smith made three free throws, and Taylor Johnson hit a 3-pointer and a layup to pull Dartmouth to 78-75. Brendan Barry then forced a turnover on Brown's next possession, but Johnson missed a layup with 17 seconds left. JR Hobbie made a pair of free throws to seal it for the Bears.

Joshua Howard chipped in 12 points for Brown, which had six score in double figures.

Evan Boudreaux had 25 points, shot 10 of 15 from the line, and grabbed 10 rebounds for his 13th double-double of the season to lead Dartmouth.
