OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Police in northern Utah have arrested a 29-year-old man after a standoff that lasted several hours.
The Standard-Examiner reports (http://bit.ly/2dPl0th ) that the Ogden Metro Police Department says the man was taken into custody Wednesday night after firing multiple shots from a handgun while on the back porch of a house. Police say at least one bullet struck a neighbor's home but officers were able to evacuate the residents to a safe area.
Ogden's SWAT team was sent to the area and attempted to get the man to leave his home. Officers say the man surrendered himself after the SWAT team used tear gas.
He was booked on 10 counts of discharging a firearm and an intoxication charge.
