NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — A North Las Vegas high school student has been arrested in the shooting death of a 20-year-old woman.
Police say the 16-year-old student at Mojave High School was arrested at school Thursday and booked into a juvenile detention facility.
The boy is accused of fatally shooting Andrea Lafon on Sept. 5 in what police described as an argument over a marijuana sale.
Police say Lafon was sitting in a car and attempting to sell marijuana when she got into an argument with the suspect and was shot once in the face.
She died the following day at a hospital.
The suspect's name was not released because of his status as a juvenile.
