PROVO, Utah (AP) — A proposed expansion of Provo's airport could mean hundreds of new jobs and more airline service.

KSL-TV of Salt Lake City reported (http://bit.ly/29TttcU) Sunday that the city of Provo is joining with a business aircraft maintenance and repair company on a project that could generate 700 jobs over a decade.

Under the proposal, Duncan Aviation would cover $50 million for the expansion of the 45-acre Provo Municipal Airport.

The city would fund installation and construction of utilities and infrastructure.

The Provo City Council has already ratified a letter of commitment to the project.

The expansion plans include adding 220,000 square feet of maintenance facilities housing office space and large hangar spaces.

Duncan Aviation would break ground early next year with the project estimated to be finished by early 2019.
